וַיְשַׁמַּ֤ע שָׁאוּל֙ אֶת־הָעָ֔ם וַֽיִּפְקְדֵם֙ בַּטְּלָאִ֔ים מָאתַ֥יִם אֶ֖לֶף רַגְלִ֑י וַעֲשֶׂ֥רֶת אֲלָפִ֖ים אֶת־אִ֥ישׁ יְהוּדָֽה׃
Saúl pues juntó el pueblo, y reconociólos en Telaim, doscientos mil de á pie, y diez mil hombres de Judá.

Sanh. 47a, Sonc. ed., p. 311), ‘We do not summon the people of the townships’. or recount his good deeds. R. Judah said: If he is a scholar we recount his good deeds.21Because he is accustomed to have his praises sung and it would not distress him in the circumstances.
